PE Lessons

Our core PE curriculum aims to offer students the opportunity to develop into independent and creative thinkers who are able to work effectively in teams as well as individuals.  The broad and balanced variety of activities offered encourages students to reflect on their strengths and weaknesses in order to become effective participators. The focus is on increasing participation and to create sustainable opportunities for all to experience purposeful physical activity.

 

Key Stage 3

Pupils are provided with a variety of activities which allow students to access all areas of the curriculum, such as; Football, Rugby, Netball, Hockey, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Basketball, Trampolining, Tennis, Cricket, Climbing, Softball, Rounders, Athletics, Gymnastics, Fitness, Dance and Outdoor Adventurous Activities. 

There are opportunities for KS3 pupils to complete the Young Sports Leaders Award, which progresses into the Sports Leaders Award in Year 10 and Year 11.Through the development of Sports leadership Awards and BTEC students are trained in a wide variety of leadership qualifications, which include multi sports, football level 1 and first aid. Leadership roles include supporting and running extra curricular activities at Endeavour and its feeder schools along with planning and running events, intra house competitions and festivals. 

 

Key Stage 4

Pupils can choose to study either the BTEC First Certificate or Diploma in Sport and Exercise Science. This offers students a broad introduction to working in the sport and leisure industry. Students cover a range of units encompassing a variety of disciplines within the sector which will enable them to continue to further education or progress into the workplace.
