Extra Curriculum : Musical Clubs - Tuition
Learning to play a musical instrument is a valuable educational activity which students are encouraged to take up. However, instrumental tuition lies outside the statutory education which the school must provide, so charges for tuition must normally be made in order to recoup a substantial portion of the cost. The rates for tuition will be set annually in readiness for the start of the term in September, and parents are informed. In deciding rates, the parties concerned will balance the need to encourage participation by keeping rates low against the school’s budgetary circumstances, which will affect the level of subsidy. Students usually receive 10 lessons per term, totalling 30 over the school year.
Parents are invoiced termly, and the school must be informed in writing the term before should students wish to withdraw from lessons. Teachers have to be booked in advance, and the school is charged for their services when the booking is made.
